After a fast start to his final round at this week's Japan Open had given Brendan a glimpse of perhaps challenging for the title, a struggle over the closing few holes of his opening nine cost him any chance.
"The round started just great but I got a flyer from the first cut of rough at the 5th hole with a sand wedge and things tuned pear shaped after that," said Brendan soon after his round. "I three putted the 6th, then bogeyed the 7th and 8th and essentially the tournament was lost there and then."
It was however a 10th place finish for Brendan, his 7th top ten of the season and he retains his 6th position on the money list.
Brendan will play next week's Bridgestone Open in Chiba on the other side of Tokyo before a brief break back home in Canberra. |
