"The conditions were quite tough. It was quite windy and it swirled a lot in the trees. We thought if we could play the 5's well then we could make a few more birdies and then on the back 9 we got on a bit of a roll. In the end we combined very well. "Richard played nicely. When I got in trouble he was the rock - very steady."
The Australian team were only battling as they made the turn in two under but made their move over the closing nine holes picking up shots at the 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 18th.

Brendan and Richard Green are alone in second position after the opening round of the Omega World Cup at Mission Hills. Their fourball total of 63 leaves them one shot behind the German pairing of Martin Kaymer and Alex Cejka with the foursomes to come on day two.
