Speaking from his home in Dallas on Friday evening, a disappointed Brendan outlined just what had happened during his brief trip to Castle Rock for the International.

Brendan had received a late call up into the event and although he was concerned about his back, the opportunity to play in the event was a tough one to turn down.

"I had the Pars injection on Wednesday morning here in Dallas then headed up to Castle Rock and was able to hit only a few balls on Wednesday afternoon. The back felt alright initally in round one but got progressively worse and I was eventually forced to withdraw after 12 holes. I  have another visit to the specialist on Monday to determine just what we can do now but obviously it is a concern."

"At present my next event will be the Reno Tahoe Open but things will have to improve significantly if I am to tee it up there."
