"I have tried to hit balls but the back still causes problems. I will give it another try tomorrow and if there is no improvement then we are planning on heading back to Canberra to get it sorted out," said Brendan from his Dallas home today.
Brendan last played an event at the International three weeks ago but was forced to withdraw. He has since had a brace made for the back but says he will feel more comfortable when he consults specialists in Australia. "It has been frustrating not knowing quite what the problem is and the injections that I have had to allow me to play and the brace support have only been temporary measures and not particularly effective. I feel I must look for a more permanent solution."
Brendan will be keen to get the back in shape as quickly as possible in order to take advantage of the few starts he has remaining on the USPGA Tour and to play the big end of season events in Japan.
Brendan is currently in 12th place on the Japan Golf Tour money list and as such and as a winner there earlier this year he will have access to events such as the Japan Open, the ABC Champoionship, the Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters and the Dunlop Phoenix tournament.
First however Brendan must ensure the back has well and truly recovered

The back problems that have plagued Brendan in recent weeks have
continued and although he may well have gained a start at this week's
Deutsche Bank Championship he has been forced to further delay any
return to competitive golf.
