Brendan has finished in a share of 7th at the Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters after a fast start on the final day had given him an outside chance of defending the title he won so dramatically last year.

Brendan could only manage a back nine of 36 despite three further birdies but it was a good solid week. 

"I had my chances but it just didn't happen for me.  I made enough birdies but there were too many mistakes. I was happy enough with my defence of the title though."

"I am also looking forward to next week in Miyazaki as I need a big finish if I am to work my way inside the top 50 in the world which obviously helps next year. There is a strong field at the Dunlop Phoenix so if I can play well then it is possible because the ranking points are higher."
