Brendan finished runner up in this event in 2006 behind his friend and fellow countryman Wayne Perske although that was at an alternate venue to that being used this week at the Token Tado Country Club.
Brendan has played only two events in 2009, the Accenture Match Play Championship in February where he was defeated in the opening round by Tiger Woods and at the Meriton Sydney Invitational where he finished midfield.
This will be the first of three consecutive events to get the season started, this week's tournament being followed by the Tsuruya Open and the Crowns before the Japan Golf Tour has a month off following the cancellation of the Pine Valley Beijing Open.

Brendan is back in Japan and preparing for this week's Token Homate Cup in Nagoya, the first event of the 2009 Japan Golf Tour season.
