Brendan has missed the cut at the MFS Australian Open after a second round of 75 had him two shots outside the required even par cut score.

After a first round of 71, Brendan always appeared likely be around for the weekend throughout his second round until a late double bogey put his chance of getting through in jeapordy.

"It was disappointing to miss out as my game was in good shape coming into this week," said Brendan after his round. "I would like to have finished off what has been a great year for me in a better way but I can now take a few weeks off in the knowledge that I have had perhaps my best year in the game."

Brendan's next event is as yet undecided but it might be that he plays in events in Dubai and India in February.
