Brendan has decided to give the chance to play one further practice round at the Asia Pacific Panasonic Open, an event where he will be defending his 2010 title, a miss with a typhoon currrently lashing the central part of Honshu in Japan."We are being hit by a typhoon at the moment but even though we could potentially play a practice round I see no point in playing in the heavy rain and will rely on what I learned from yesterday's round. I like the golf course actually. As I played yesterday I kept seeing good golf holes so I think it is pretty good. "Despite the ordinary weather today the forecast for the next few days is good and provided there is not too much damage to the golf course then things should be ok. "I was happy with the progress I made last week after a week at home in Canberra where I did not play at all. Things got better as the week progressed and I was creating a lot of opportunities for myself which was encouraging." Brendan finished in a share of 9th last week and interestingly he had finished 8th in that same event last year in the lead-up to his victory in this particular event. Brendan's victory last year came at a venue near Kobe and after the event had been reduced to 54 holes. photo; Brendan with the 2010 trophy courtesy of Japan Golf Tour |
