Brendan delighted with first up 2007 tournament

bc_open_at_turning_stone_resort_july_2006_copy As Brendan relaxed at his hotel in Christchurch, New Zealand where he had arrived just an hour or two earlier, he reflected back on what had been a very satisfying week in Adelaide when finishing in a share of third place at the Jacob's Creek Open.

"I probably drove the ball as well as I ever have and generally my play from tee to green was very solid. I had hoped to use the Belly Putter but after using it on day one I quickly changed my mind as I wasted at least three shots on that first day and was back with the long putter almost immediately."

"The third and fourth holes at Kooyonga cost me dearly throughout the week as I dropped seven shots on those two holes and in the end I missed out on a playoff be just two. Still I was very pleased with the week overall. I headed to Adelaide to seek out where my game would need work as I look ahead to the Japan Golf Tour but was pleasantly surprised with how things went."

Brendan started the last round well with birdies on the opening two holes and had actually claimed the lead at that point. He would however bogey three of the next six holes to slip back to 8 under before climbing his way back up the leaderboard.

Brendan is in Christchurch for this week's New Zealand PGA Championship at Clearwater Resort where in 2004 he finished runner up to Gavin Coles. "I remember the weather being just awful that year so hopefully it will be better this week."
