Brendan enters calculations

Brendan’s win at last week’s Crowns Tournament has moved him to 52nd in the world ranking (his highest ever standing) and to 14th in the International Team’s Presidents Cup standings.

Brendan will return to the Japan Golf Tour next week to play the Japan PGA Championship and three further events before taking another break. He has those four events to make the top 50 in the world and if he was to do so by either June 6th or 13th he would be eligible to play the US Open at Congressional.

Brendan has played the US Open on one previous occasion, that coming in 2004 at Shinnecock Hills in New York State.

A place in the International Presidents Cup Team has now become an outside possibility with Brendan needing to be inside the top ten in the World Ranking of those players eligible to represent the International Team in order for him to be an automatic inclusion. That team is selected on September 18th.

Brendan’s win at the Crowns moved him from 69th to 52nd in the world ranking and from 20th to 14th in the Presidents Cup Standings so another victory over the next few weeks could open up several possibilities for him. K.J. Choi is currently the 10th highest ranked International golfer in 34th position in the world ranking.

Brendan is currently the 5th highest ranked Australian golfer.
