As Brendan prepared for this week's ABC Championship in Hyogo Prefecture, he expressed concern as to a shoulder injury. "I played only three holes today," he said onTuesday evening. "I wanted to keep playing but I couldn't keep my left hand on the club. I had some physio on it this afternoon but I won't know until tomorrow really as to how bad it is."

Brendan is hopefully playing an event in which he has often done well including when he won in 2002 and winning huge cheque in the process. The event is not quite as lucrative now as the cigarette companies who previously sponsored it are now long longer doing so but it is still an important event and comes at the right time of the year.   

Brendan is scheduled to play at 9.24 in round one
