Brendan heads for Atlanta and the PGA Championship

Brendan heads for Atlanta today, a start at the PGA Championship beckoning after a break from tournament golf of six weeks as he enjoyed the arrival of his new son Curtis.

Brendan earns a start in the event essentially as a result of his world ranking. He has played the event on several previous occasions including when 24th in 2009 after being very much in the hunt with eight holes to play on the final day.

A short visit to see long time mentor and coach Alex Mercer in Sydney has Brendan feeling a little better about his prospects for a good week. "He had me back on track after watching me hit two shots," said Brendan shortly before leaving for the USA. "I felt really positive when I left him. It will be interesting to see what six weeks out of competitive golf will do to me. I feel good after seeing Alex though!"
