A second round of 68 at the Japan PGA Championship has seen Brendan improve from his overnight 54th to a share of 14th nearing the end of the second day.

"I played great today but really got nothing out of the round," said Brendan from his hotel room on Friday evening. "I felt I had left six or seven shots out there but I drove it well and hit a lot of good irons. The greens here this week are very tough and very grainy and I have struggled with them to date."

At three under Brendan is eight shots behind the current tearway leader, Shingo Katayama but only four shots out of second place as the second round draws to a close.
