Last year Brendan won this event by two shots over Mamo Osanai and also won in 2004. He was 6th in 2003 and on the other two occcasions he played the event he finished 20th so has a very good record over the Yamanohara Golf Club's Yamanohara Course.

Brendan will look to carry on the form he showed last Sunday during the final round of the Token Homemate Cup when he defends his Tsuruya Open title this week near Osaka. Brendan finished with a final round 65 on Sunday and tomorrow will tee off at 8.05 with Shingo Katayama and Hidemasa Hoshino.
