Brendan has made a very good start to the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills near Detroit, his opening round of one over par 71 leaving him in 16th position but only three shots from the current lead.

Brendan was out late on day one although he managed to get his day completed while 18 players will be required to return in the morning to finish their opening round.

A birdie at his 17th hole (the 8th of the course) turned a good round into a very encouraging start and with an early tee time tomorrow (8.00am) he has a chance to continue on with it.
