Three golfers, Tadahiro Takayama, Toru Taniguchi and Keiichiro Fukabori have earned the right to play at Winged Foot with David Smail and Horoyuki Fujita as the alternates. The qualifying was held at the same venue as that for last week's Mitsubishi Diamond tournament. Brendan has now decided to withdraw from this week's event in Sendai and will take a three week break before heading for the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open starting in Okayama on June 22nd, an event he has won previously.             |
Brendan has missed out at the final qualifying for the US Open for the Japan Golf Tour players. Brendan finished in 14th position with a 36 hole total of 148 or 4 over.
