Brendan has moved closer to the lead of Shingo Katayama at the Visa Taiheiyo Championship after a second round of 69 has him at 5 under and 4 behind the lead.

An opening bogey on day two was offset by a strong finish to the event. "I hung in there well, said Brendan referring to his comeback after a shaky start. "I didn't want to do too much wrong. I'm in a good position and will be playing more aggressively on the weekend."

Brendan is currently in 13th position and well placed to move over the weekend in the defence of his title.
