Brendan has added a second round of 69 at the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open and has made the cut in the event which acts as a Japan Golf Tour qualifier for the Open Championship in addition to being a significant tournament in its own right.

"I feel like I'm playing well but I'm not scoring well," said Brendan from his hotel room this evening. "It's quite frustrating as you could imagine. Also I think I've pulled a muscle in my back from when I was at home last week. I reckon it's happened from throwing Kieran (Brendan's nearly three old son) up in the air on the trampolline!!! He is getting quite heavy now....... or I'm just getting old!!"

Brendan made a flying start to the tournament yesterday with two early birdies but he struggled to recover from a double bogey at the 4th hole and finished with three over par 75. Today he was a little better on the greens but if he is to secure one of the four place available at the Open Championship from this venue then he will need a big weekend.

Brendan is at even par, in 52nd position and nine shots behind the leader.
