Brendan will this week tee it up in his 8th Japan Open Championship, this time at the Tokanodai Country Club in Chiba in Greater Tokyo chasing a win in an event that is considered one of the flagship events of the Japan Golf Tour. With victories in several other of the leading events in Japan a win in this event would add signficantly to his career CV and also offers opportunities for starts in one or two important events wordwide. Brendan's best finish in the event came in 2008 when he finished 3rd behind Shingo Katayama at the incredibly demanding Koga Golf Club but from what he has seen so far this early in the week Brendan is happy with the way the golf course is set up this year. "It seems ok and probably one of the better ones in recent years," said Brendan referrring to the manner in which the golf course is set up this year. "The rough is brutal in parts but overall it doesn't seem over the top." Brendan will tee it up in round one with Hidemasa Hoshino and one of Japan's and the world's leading amateurs, Yoshinori Fujimoto.             |
