Brendan is playing the new Royal Sydney layout for the first time in this week's Australian Open having not been available to play the event when it was last played here in 2006.

Brendan played the pro am today in cool overcast weather and is happy to be home. "I will be even happier when this week is over and I can rest up for a couple of months but I am looking forward to playing the event," he said.

"I played very well last Sunday," said Brendan referring to his last round of 64 in Tokyo. "Early in the week at the Golf Nippon Series it was not so good but I really did play well late in the tournament and it was nice to finish the season off as well as I did."

Brendan plays his first round at 8.20 with fellow Japanese Tour players Tasuhiko Takahashi and David Smail.
