Brendan prepares for Australian Open

brendan_at_practise_at_the_australianBrendan was out practicing today in preparation for this week's MFS Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club with good friend and fellow Canbera golfer, Chris Campbell. I'm feeling good and enjoying playing at home said Brendan as he played the 4th hole on a golf course that is threatening to be a tough proposition this week.

Brendan had a minor catastrophe this week when he inadvertently left his golf clubs alongside his car at his home in Canberra and had the misfortune of wife Adele running them over. His 4 wood broke but that aside there was not other damage. "Fortunately I had another in my garage at home which I also like but it could have ben much worse, said Brendan.

Brendan has seldom played the Australian Open in recent years, given his committment to late season Japan Golf Tour events, but given the form he brings here after a great season in Japan he is loking forward to a good week. "The rough is very thick and the greens are a little slow at this stage but overall I think the course will be a fantastic test. I won the Australian Amateur here in 1999 so hopefully those good memories of the Australian will help."

Brendan has a 12.25 tee off on Thursday when he will play with Nick Flanagan and Mark Hensby
