Brendan will safely make the cut at the Dubai Desert Classic and with still just under half the players still to complete their second rounds, Brendan is in 31st place at 2 under par after a second consecutive round of 71. Conditions suggest that he will be unlikely to slip much further back, if at all, over the remaining stages of round two.
In stormy conditions that blew desert sand across the Emirates Golf Club, Brendan started his round today in horror fashion when he double bogeyed the first hole of the day but in an impressive comeback he was able to record four birdies and at 2 under par he is not all that far from the edge of contention.
Currently in 62nd position in the World Ranking, it is important, especially given the strength of this field, to make progress over the weekend as he would well consolidate his position inside the top 64 and therefore increase his chances of a start at the Accenture Match Play in Arizona in three weeks time. |
