Brendan has managed to shake of his rustiness after a seven week break from tournament golf in time to not only make the cut at the Fujisankei Classic but to give himself an outside chance of playing his way to a good finish by week's end.

After an opening nine of 40 in yesterday's round one, Brendan was no doubt feeling the effects of the lengthy break he took back in Australia to enjoy the arrival of he and wife Adele's first child but he recovered to shoot an opening 75 and things only got better today with a round of 69 on the very demanding and quality layout at the Fujizakura Golf Club at the base of Mt Fuji.

Only one player beat Brendan's score of 69 today as he moved from his overnight 78th to 19th. Brendan is seven shots behind the joint third round leaders but with the effects of his break behind him he now has a chance to make even further ground over the weekend.
