After a slow start to this year's Bridgestone Open in Chiba, Brendan has staged a fine recovery to finish in a share of 7th, his equal best finish at the Sodegaura Golf Club east of Tokyo. It was Brendan's 6th top ten in his last seven starts this season and despite disappointment at the last when he left his second in the fairway trap at the par five, it was a good solid week after his opening round of 73 on Thursday. "After the opening efforton Thursday I am really happy the way the week went in the end," said Brendan tonight. "My putting was a little better and am looking forward to the last few events of the year." An early bogey today was offset by six birdies and although he bogyed the 14th it was an another encouraging week especially with several big events to come over the next six weeks. Brendan earns ¥4,421,250 for the week and is in 9th position on the money list as the Japan Tour heads to next week's ABC Championship near Osaka. Brendan will play that ABC Championship and then likely head home to Canberra for one week although that may change dependant on whether he gains a start at the HSBC WGC event in China the week after the ABC event. He is currently 4th alternate |
