After labouring for much of the day at Totoumai Hamamatsu Open in Shizuoka, Brendan's birdies at the final two holes of round two elevated him to a share of second position two shots behind the leader, rookie Yoshinori Fujimoto. Brendan appeared to be playing his way out of contention when he dropped to two over for the day with six holes to play but three late birdies have him within striking distance of his second win of the season. It was a very windy day and Brendan stated afterwards that he was pleased with the way he handled himself. "It blew like hell all day and I am really happy with the way I managed myself," said Brendan. "I am delighted to be in the position I am in," he added referring to the late comeback. The leading three players will play together in tomorrow's third round. |
