While its late season scheduling might not be ideal for all, the mid December date for this week's J.B. Were Masters has provided Brendan the opportunity to play the iconic PGA Tour of Australasia event for just the second occasion in the last six years. In previous years the event has been played in mid November and as such Brendan has normally be committed to the end of season events on the Japan Golf Tour. With the re-allocation of dates to tie in with the Presidents Cup, the Masters was left with the unattractive slot of mid December when virtually every other Tour in world golf has closed down. Brendan does therefore get the chance to play the event for one of the few occasions he has had the opportunity and to play the Victoria Golf Club which he has not played since his amateur days. Brendan played the Pro-Am today and his team won thanks in no small part to a hole in one by one of his partners at the driveable par four first. "I was happy enough with the way I played especially considering I have not touched a club since my last JapanTour event two weeks ago," said Brendan. "Adele (Brendan's wife) got sick earlier this week and I was consdiering not coming although family rallied around and their suppoort has given me the chance to play here." Brendan will play in the afternoon field on day one with World Cup team mate Richard Green and John Senden. |
