Brendan remains in contention at the completion of his second round of the Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters, trailing the 36 hole leader, Toru Taniguchi, by two shots and holding second place alone.

After a shaky start to his round Brendan birdied five of his eight holes between the 7th and 14th today before a three putt bogey at the 16th. He responded with an almost compulsory birdie at the par five last. "I'm finally putting ok although a couple of three putts at 4th and 16th did hurt," said Brendan after his round. "Overall however my putting is feeling a lot better and importantly I have birdied six of the eight par fives over the first 36 holes which is a statistic I was hoping to improve."
