Despite a disappointing second round of 73, Brendan finds himself only two shots behind the leaders after 36 holes of the Coca Cola Tokai Classic in Nagoya.
A final 9 of two over par 38 has cost Brendan the chance of the outright lead but he is in a share of 9th in what is a congested leaderboard.
A birdie at his 6th hole today had Brendan knocking on the door of the lead, but although he faltered over the closing stages he is well poised to make a move over the final 36 holes.
