| Brendan still alive after early struggles |

 Brendan has battled his way through the opening two rounds of the Japan Open in Chiba and at the halfway mark is in 48th position at 5 over and ten shots from the lead of countryman Neven Basic. "I actually drove the ball a lot better today but the funny thing about the setup this week is that the closer you hit it to the fairways (if you miss) the worse the rough is," said Brendan this evening. Brendan picked up an early birdie but it was the early stages of his homeward nine today where the damage was done. He dropped four shots in seven holes from the turn but a birdie at the 17th avoided any concerns about the cut. "I made a few bad decisions on the course today also but they are saying a bit of rain and wind around tomorrow so hopefully that will assist me in gaining some ground."             |
