Brendan has staged a remarkable weekend recovery at this week's ANA Open in Sapporo, jumping from the cutline on Friday evening to eventually finish in a share of 8th.
After a bogey at his first hole in round three, Brendan played the last 35 holes without a bogey and eleven birdies in that time led to rounds of 68 and 66 and a jump of 48 positions. Brendan began round three in the unflattering position of first off the 10th tee and in a two ball but that would change quickly over the next 28 or so hours. After a real battle with his putter in his first 36 holes, Brendan improved significantly on the greens over the weekend although he knows there is still room for improvement. "Just imagine what I could have done if I had putted well", he joked as he headed to the airport to catch a plane to Hiroshima for a Callaway corporate day on Monday. "I played really well this weekend and felt today's round was an easy 6 under. I am now really looking forward to the next couple of weeks." Brendan will play this week's Asia Panasonic Open followed by the Tokai Classic in Nagoya before a one week break. |
