Brendan has safely made the cut at the Japan PGA Chamionshio Cupnoodle Cup in Hyogo but it was not without some anxious moments after his second round of 73 had him outside the cutline when he finished his round.
Fortunately for Brendan the difficult conditions of the morning prevailed all day and the longer he waited the more and more likely it appeared he would be around for the weekend. At day's end he finds himself in 46th position at 3 over but, importantly, only seven shots from the leaders. Brendan's fortunes appeared to be making a turn for the better when he birdied his 9th hole today to get to 2 over and with a par five to come he could well have crept to the edge of contention. Unfortnately for Brendan he would bogey that par five but as the day wore on things improved as he awaited his fate. "I did not have my A, B or C game with me on these opening two days," said Brendan after his second round. "I am not too far away but things will need to improve." |
