Brendan will know next Monday evening when the revised rankings are released for week 7 of the 2011 World Ranking as to whether he has been able to hold on to his place inside the top 64 and earn a start in the field for the Accenture Match Play Championship.

At present, with just one week to go, Brendan is in 61st position and on the cusp. Following the release of the rankings, players have until Friday of next week to commit to the event and provided Brendan is inside the top 64 or alternatively there are sufficient withdrawals for him to sneak inside the 64 leading and available players he will  be off to Arizona for the event.

Two years ago Brendan played the tournament for the fsecond time when he faced Tiger Woods in round one. It was Woods' first tournament back after knee surgery and although Brendan lost to the then world number one he put up a good showing before losing 3 & 2.

He also played the event in 2008 when losing to fellow Australian Adam Scott 2 & 1 in the opening round.
