A final round of 69 in this week's Japan Open, which included five birdies on a day where birdies were not all that easy to come by, has Brendan headed for next week's Bridgestone Open in Chiba  in good heart about his game.

Given that it was the first event in his last seven starts where Brendan has actually completed all four rounds in a tournament it suggests that the finish to his 2006 season could well turn an ordinary year around.

"Earlier in the week I had actually been playing a little better than the scores had been sugggesting so it was nice to post a reasonable number today," said Brendan at the coonpletion of the event. "I was not sharp earlier and that was perhaps a reflection on the fact that I have not had a lot of tournament golf in the last couple of months. To be able to get four rounds in and finish the way I did was very encouraging."
