Despite his much improved second round at the Diamond Cup at the Chiba Country Club today, Brendan has missed the cut and will now set his sights on next week's Japan Golf Tour Championship in Ibaraki Prefecture.

After a horror start to his week on Thursday - when a shaky finish to the opening day led to a round of 76 - Brendan was always behind the eightball in terms of making it through to the weekend. He needed something special to turn it around.

It appeared that might just be on the cards when he birdied two of his first six holes in round two but a bogey at the 10th hole would prove costly in terms of slowing the momentum. He was able to birdie the final two par fives for a round of 69 but there had been too much damage on day one.
