Late stumble costly for Brendan

Brendan has finished in a share of 12th position at the Japan Golf Tour Championship Citibank Cup at the Shishido Hills Golf Club in Ibaraki Prefecture.

On what was one of the most demanding golf courses all season, only three players would break par, even the winner, Katsumasa Miyamoto requiring a final nine of 40 to eventually limp home by three shots.

Like many others in the field, Brendan was required to be in position to play his last few holes of round three very early this morning before heading back out to play the final round after weather delays had prevented the third round from being completed yesterday. He parred in to complete a third round of 72. At that point he stood in a share of 8th position albeit 11 shots behind the runaway leader, Miyamoto.

Brendan made an encourgaing start to his final round with two early birdies to move within striking distance of a top three finish but disaster struck on the back nine when he bogeyed the 13th and double bogeyed the 15th.

Brendan will now fly back to Canberra and prepare for the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open starting on June 24th, an event which also doubles as the Japan Golf Tour's qualifying for the Open Championship.

Brendan is currently in 16th position on the Japan Golf Tour's money list.
