|Long way for little return for Brendan|

Brendan is readying himself for a long trip back to Canberra following a fruitless trip to the Open Championship.
Brendan missed the cut by a massive six shots after consecutive rounds of 78, his failure to handle to closing stretch of holes proving to be his main downfall. Over the closing five holes Brendan would drop nine shots over the first two rounds and even though that stretch of holes was proving very costly for all, it was particularly hurtful for Brendan and left him without any hope of making it to the weekend.
"I putted poorly the two days and my temperament wasn't as good as it should have been," said Brendan. "The last 7 holes Thursday is what cost me. I played great the first 11 holes Thursday and then I just couldn't find the short stuff. My scrambling was terrible!
"I played we'll yesterday but I got screwed on 9 where I was looking at birdie and ended up with bogey, and then on the back 9 I played more aggressively to try to make birdies and that didn't work. I'm disappointed with the two days but I know I can do nuch better than my effort indicated."
