Mixed emotions for Brendan

jones_brendan_adp9887Brendan has finished in a share of 5th at the opening event of the Japan Golf Tour season, the Token Homemeate Cup but it was a case of what might have been.

Brendan shared the lead into the third round and birdied his opening two holes to open up a two shot lead. He retained that lead or a share of it until the 13th hole which he bogeyed and when he dropped another shot at the 16th he had fallen three behind the lead.

Brendan two putted the par five 17th for a birdie but by then it was too late and he finished two behind the playoff between Koumei Oda and Jong-Duck Kim.

"It's disappointing but I am not as bothered as in other similar situations. I putted as poorly as I could and still finished 5th so there are plenty of positives to take out of it. My stats generally were very good apart from my putting so I need to work on that. I know what I am doing but my speed today was not good. I don't feel like I am putting terribly and I know in my own mind it is not far away but with this being the first week of the season here I now know what I need to do."

"I'll head up to Osaka tomorrow and am looking forward to next week at the Tsuruya which is an event where I have had a lot of success. Hopefully I can get there and start seeing the lines a bit better."
