Brendan has staged a strong late rally at the Sega Sammy Invitational at the North Country Club in Hokkaido to finish in a share of 6th position and just two shots behind a three way playoff for the title.
After his slow start to the tournament on Thursday Brendan's week continued to build momentum and although again frustrated by a lack of success on the greens he was delighted by his week. "I am happy with my finish but let one slip a way a little here. My ball striking the last three days has been great but my putter has let me down. To finish only two shots back gives me a lot of confidence heading into next week's Sun Chlorella event." Brendan birdied his final two holes for his third consecutive round of 68, picking up seven places on the final day. Next week's Sun Chlorella event is just on the other side of Sapporo and so there will be time to recharge the batteries before an event in which Brendan has often played well including when winning on another golf course in 2003. |
